I prefer to use paper, organzine, silk, cotton, hemp, jute, linen and upcycled/recycled yarns.
Iris Murphy is a weaver. Born and raised in California, a serendipitous route guided her to the discovery of weaving, which led her to Central Saint Martins, where she graduated in 2017.
She uses a 40" AVL 24 harness Compu-Dobby II Loom at her studio in Los Angeles. Her fabrics are used for an array of products consisting of pillows, wallets, wall hangings, window panels and more. Iris is available for commissions and freelance based work. Please contact via email.
My woven textiles are based on research into different subjects that range from mid century sculpture to remnants left behind (the publics trash). All of my textiles are outcomes from an abstract exploration into these subjects.
